Alphabet
Eurps Are A Hit At L-I-C-E-N-S-I-N-G
Sony Wonder Announces Details of the Eurps Video
NEW
YORK, New York, July 29, 2003 – One of the busiest booths at Licensing
International last month belonged to Eurpsville Entertainment, creator
and licensor of the children’s property Alphabet EURPS®. The
Company revealed its new product release schedule, announced details
of the September 2004 launch of Sony Wonder’s first Eurps video,
and held meetings with potential licensees, publishers and promotional
partners.
Eurpsville and Sony
Wonder are currently developing direct-to-video programming featuring
the Alphabet Eurps characters. Each CGI animated video will be centered
in the Eurpsville Letter Factory, a colorful, whimsical and energetic
environment where words and stories are created. During each animated
segment, the Alphabet Eurps will take preschool viewers along with them
on magical, musical adventures.
The first video,
scheduled to be distributed by Sony Wonder to mass market retailers
in time for back-to-school 2004, will consist of four 10 minute segments.
The script and accompanying music will be written by the Dovetail Group,
led by industry veteran and Emmy Award winning writer Gerri Brioso (“Sesame
Street”).
Eurpsville also
announced it will add an Eurps alphabet poster in September 2003 and
mini-Eurps plush dolls in January 2004. The additions to the current
lines of storybooks and plush dolls are expected to greatly expand the
company’s current 1000 store distribution and to extend the visibility
of the Alphabet Eurps property.
Eurpsville is currently
negotiating several other licenses, including an agreement with a major
publisher, to develop complementing Eurps product lines to be released
simultaneously with the Sony Wonder video. Additionally, the company
expects to enter into promotional agreements with several consumer products
companies.
“While The
Licensing Show was a crowded, I heard much disappointment from licensees
and promotional companies because nothing was new,” stated Michael
A. Kohn, CEO of Eurpsville. “That is why our booth was packed.
We have taken a property that everyone knows will last for the next
1000 years, the alphabet, and created an exciting and original brand
that gets stronger with every retail sale we make.”
“The Alphabet
Eurps are positioned to make a strong statement in licensing,”
added Micky Hyman of Red Sky Entertainment, the company’s worldwide
licensing agent. “The Eurps are a special and unique brand for
kids.”
